Big 12 Daily Fever: Both With QB Issues, OU and Baylor Prepare To Face Off

Posted: Oct 07, 2009

When Oklahoma travels to meet Baylor, all eyes will be focused on the quarterback position-for both teams.

Obviously the whole nation is waiting to see if Sam Bradford is ready to return to the field. There still seem to be more questions than answers for the reigning Heisman winner, who would like to lead the Sooners to another league title. At 2-2, that is the current goal for the Sooners with their National Title hopes having likely disappeared.

Baylor’s goal for the season was getting to a bowl game for the first time since 1994, but they were hit hard by the season-ending injury to star signal caller Robert Griffin. Backup Blake Szymanski looked like a capable fill-in, but he was also injured and missed last week. Art Briles had to turn to freshman Nick Florence to lead the Bears to a victory over Kent State in his first college start.

It will be a much different challenge this week as both Baylor QBs are expected to play against a very tough Oklahoma defense.
