SPF Daily Rating: Dolphins Trade for Thigpen

Posted: Sep 29, 2009

The Miami Dolphins wasted no time replacing injured QB Chad Pennington by trading for former Chiefs and Coastal Carolina QB Tyler Thigpen in the wake of Pennington's decision to have surgery.  Thigpen played big minutes last year as a second year QB and was surprisingly effective.

The Dolphins are 0-3, but they don't appear ready to throw in the towel just yet.  As we predicted at the beginning of the 2009, SPF teams would struggle.  So far, three of our division winners (Miami, Tennessee, and Carolina) have all started out 0-3.

With Thigpen and Chad Henne, the Dolphins QB corp is now young and filled with potential.  The question now is whether either of these two can step forward and reverse the early season slide that the Dolphins have been mired in.

We shall see what the Big Tuna has up his sleeve for the 2009 Dolphins now that one of his favorite QBs is done for the year and perhaps his career.
