Mystery And Manners Highlights Three Rock and Roll Forces

This week on Mystery And Manners we’re profiling three high grade Georgia rock and roll bands--The Black Crowes, Widespread Panic and Bloodkin. Each band commands respect in they’re own right. These three amazing groups are actively out on the circuit right now. The Crowes, behind their stellar new double album Before The Frost…Until The Freeze  played shows last week in Huntsville, and Nashville and this week they will be in Oxford and their hometown of Atlanta. The Crowes stand as the most formidable rock and roll locomotive on the road right now.

The mighty Widespread Panic will begin a string of historic shows with The Allman Brothers, which begin this weekend in Charlotte. Panic prepares to enter into the studio to begin work on recording a new studio album. Bloodkin’s Daniel Hutchens and Panic drummer Todd Nance have been kicking around some ideas for the Panic sessions. Bloodkin just played The Gram Parsons Guitar Pull a couple weeks ago and they prepare to go out for some fall dates. Tomorrow Daniel Hutchens and I will discuss these festive activities. Last month Nance and Panic bassist Dave Schools talked to me about touring with The Allmans. So, each night we’ll serve a different literary/music dish on these three musical forces. Send your mind on the Mystery And Manners front page.

Ain’t Life Grand,

James Calemine
