Well, I am sitting here drinking some tea and looking out the office window at the snow drifting down and covering everything in pure white. Snow is such a calming thing. So quiet. So beautiful. And as long as it doesn’t turn to ice, I’m a happy camper.
I wanted to give y’all a heads up. Rolling Stone Magazine, which I loved as a teen and a twenty-something, is really doing some remarkable writing over this past year or two. Maybe before that, but I got so pissed off at them during the 80’s and 90’s and into the 21st century, I stopped reading the mag. Then one day someone gave me a gift subscription.
I started reading the political musings of Matt Taibbi, and following his take on the recent election. He does a great job. As for music, there is at least one champion for our generation still working there, and that is David Fricke, who seems to always write about what interests me.
In the new issue (yes, the one with Taylor Swift on the cover), Fricke visits Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi and family at their Jacksonville, Florida home. Great photos and an equally interesting article, especially Derek’s take on the Duane Allman comparison.
Way to go Rolling Stone. You made one old fan quite happy.
Keep it Real. Keep it Southern.

Everyone need a wholesale pen and all of us hold a wholesale umbrella in case of the bad weather, so they are good tools to promote your new brand. A stress ball is a good tool to release stress.

Someone gave me a subscption also. Great story hope they keep it up. That was the magazine read when I grew up. Then it went to hell.

Well I have been a regular reader since the late 60's and tend to disagree with all the RS bashing. Having said that, love the Derek article and if you didn't notice yet David Fricke also talked up the new Bloodkin as well in the reviews section so that was good to see.
