Legendary New Orleans drummer Earl Palmer died yesterday at 83. Palmer played drums on sessions for Fats Domino, Little Richard, Richie Valens, Sam Cooke, Randy Newman, B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt and Elvis Costello. The flag flies at half-mast at Swampland for this percussive king. This Orlando Sentinel article provides a brief backdrop on Palmer's talent.
