American Idol Jams at Warren Haynes Christmas
Posted: Dec 22, 2006
American Idol winner, Taylor Hicks, joined Outformation onstage in front of a sold-out crowd at Asheville's Stella Blue on December 15 along side Warren Haynes annual Christmas Jam. Named one of the Top 10 Concerts of the Year by the London Times, Warren Haynes' Christmas benefit for Habitat for Humanity (now in its eighteenth year) is notorious for bringing together artists from all over the map. This year proved no exception, as performers showcased included Haynes' Gov't Mule, Dave Matthews, the John Popper Project feat. DJ Logic, New Orleans Social Club, and the Taj Mahal Trio.
However, one of the most exciting collaborations of the weekend took place between Atlanta's Outformation and American Idol winner Taylor Hicks.Hicks and his harmonica joined Outformation onstage for "Sweet Louisiana" before joining for both songs of the encore, "Can't You See" and "Long Hard Ride" (Both Marshall Tucker Band covers.)
Outformation has become a mainstay in the southern rock arena with dozens of sold out theater performances in 2006 and a growing community of fans. When interviewed about the performance, Hicks said he was "thrilled to be a part of such an amazing event."
