BamaJam is June 5-7, Make Plans to Attend

Posted: May 21, 2008

Excitement is mounting down in Enterprise, Alabama, in anticipation of The First Annual BamaJam Music and Arts Festival. Put together by our friends at Ronnie Gilley Entertainment, the blow out Southern Rock, Country and Bluegrass mega fest will happen June 5-7, 2008. GRITZ Alabama correspondent Son Edwards will be there all three days, taking pictures, getting quotes and basking in the hot Bamalama sun.

The 2-day/3-night music extravaganza was created to celebrate the human spirit through country music and the arts and to provide financial support to help serve the needs of the people of Coffee County and the surrounding area.

The centerpiece of BamaJam will be Bama Village with booths, displays and activities that include: Bama Market offering great food, some of the best shopping including an assortment of quality arts and crafts from local and regional craftsman and artisans and various vendors as well as official festival and artist merchandise. Then there's Bama Music Lounge where the music never stops. Bama Media Lounge will offer the latest in music, film and technology, and BamaJam Park will offer an on-site camping area and RV park

Now, hold on to your hat and boots, as we run down the list of artists confirmed for the festival.

Lynyrd Skynrd, Hank Williams Jr., ZZ Top, Randy Owen (formerly of the mega-hit Alabama), Miranda Lambert, Trace Adkins, Little Big Town. Ricky Skaggs. Tracy Lawrence, Gov't Mule, Cherryholmes, Darryl Worley, Corey Smith, Eric Church, Claire Lynch, Jason Michael Carroll, Nanci Griffith, Dan Tyminski, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Duhks, Dr. Ralph Stanley, Del McCoury Band, , Blue Highway, Ashton Shepherd, Marc Brousard, Mountain Heart, Railroad Earth, Heartland, Pure & Simple, Rio Grande, Keller Williams, James Otto, Zac Brown Band, Emmit-Nershi Band, The Wood Brothers and The Yonder Mountain String Band. Wowzer!

Sure wish the ol' Buffalo himself could be there, but unfortunately, there's only one of this ol' bison, and I have prior commitments. But not to worry, our Bama buddy Sonny Edwards will give us the full tilt rundown on all thangs BamaJam.

Now this is a show I can get behind. The best artists in several styles. Some Skynyrd, some Skaggs and Railroad Earth is one of my all time favorite bands! I guess you just sold 2 tickets!

Now, if they only had Marshall Tucker and The Winters Brothers Band, I'd take out a second morgage to be there.
