An old standby...Located right across the causeway leading to St. Simons Island, Jinright's continues to serve reasonable prices, top-rate seafood and relaxed atmosphere after 23 years of business. Coastal folks know their seafood, and this place is always filled with customers. Locals become accustomed to such delictable seafood until they make a trip to the city or 200 miles from the coast.
They serve a Gator tail dinner here for just under $14. The diverse fish selection includes Trout, Flounder, Tuna, Catfish, Salmon and whatever happens to be the catch of the day. Also on the menu are soft-shell Crab, Lobster, Oysters, Shrimp, Cheese Grits, Crablegs, Scallops, fried mushrooms, onion rings, clam chowder, and clam strips. All sorts of combinations are available. The sweet tea tastes refreshing. The cole slaw serves as a nice balance, and the hush puppies never stay on the plate. Even the cocktail sauce gives off an original recipe kick...
The desserts also prove formidable if you've still not eaten your fill. The pie selection ranks strong with various choices such as Key Lime, French Silk, Apple, Bourbon Street Pecan and New York Cheesecake. On this day I ate fresh flounder, fresh shrimp, downhome cheese grits, cole slaw, hush puppies and a large sweet tea with fresh lemon. Regardless of any argument otherwise, the best seafood is always on the coast. Jinright's proves a worthy stop on the way to the beach.
