Wow , a great list. The mythology of the Skynyrd plane crash continues to grow to this day. The idea of a southern band who made their living "singing songs about the southland" and had just released an album with a song with the line "the smell of death that surrounds you" and then crashes through a swamp in Mississippi...It was almost too unbelievable to be true. But it was true and October 20th, 1977 the world lost (imo) the greatest band to come out of the south.

What a fantastic list Michael. All 100 I agree with and yes, I knew the final flight of the Freebird would have to be number one. Keep up the great writing. We love it.
